Thanks to Mark Goodacre for mentioning Andrew Das’ new book, Solving the Romans Debate, even if I doubt that’s what the author has done. (I read his Paul and the Jews and wasn’t terribly impressed.) From the blurb cited by Mark, it’s clear that Das is maintaining a Gentile audience in Rome. Readers know I think is a mistake and that the solution to Romans lies in its mixed audience of Jews and Gentiles. But I plan on reading the book with a wonderfully open mind before writing a review.
